The Home Depot has been recognized for the 13th time as an ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year for its contributions to energy conservation through customer education and promoting ENERGY STAR products.

An ENERGY STAR Partner since 2001, The Home Depot has set an example for integrating energy conservation into its processes and the purchases of its consumers.

Given in conjunction with the Environmental Protection Agency, the ENERGY STAR Awards recognize companies that lead their industries in the sale and production of energy-efficient products and services.

The award also recognizes businesses that develop and adopt strategies that provide substantial savings for homes, businesses and factories. In 2021, The Home Depot estimated that its customers saved over $1.5 billion by switching to energy-efficient products like ENERGY STAR. The company also featured ENERGY STAR as one of its central strategies in its 2022 ESG report. But that’s not all: ENERGY STAR products were at the forefront of 2022’s Earth Day, ENERGY STAR Day and Rule Your Attic campaigns.

This is a tremendous honor, and I’d like to thank our associates and customers who have adopted the thousands of ENERGY STAR products that we carry in stores and online.

These sustainable strategies aren’t just restricted to The Home Depot’s customers, however. Within the home improvement retail industry, The Home Depot has set an example for integrating sustainability and energy conservation into its processes. Since 2010, The Home Depot has reduced electricity consumption in its stores by 50%. In addition, over 200 of its stores use fuel cells to generate power rather than drawing entirely from the grid. With its goal to produce enough renewable energy to power all Home Depot facilities by 2030, the company has already made massive strides towards its objective.
