The Home Depot is committed to helping protect water resources by selling products designed to conserve. The store not only offers a large selection of WaterSense-labeled products, but also helps to make those products more affordable for customers. When you see the WaterSense label, you know that product has been certified to perform as well as typical models while using 20% less water and saving energy.

Recently, The Home Depot was awarded a 2022 WaterSense Retailer Partner of the Year Award in recognition for our achievements in 2021.

Last year, The Home Depot helped save an estimated 66 billion gallons of water by selling WaterSense-labeled products. 100 percent of the toilets, bathroom faucets and showerheads sold in U.S. Home Depot stores were WaterSense-labeled models.

Stores offer a large selection of WaterSense-labeled products, which also help customers save money on their utility bills. The Home Depot also promoted WaterSense-labeled products and easy ways to save water here on our Eco Actions website.

These are significant achievements for The Home Depot because we know that our greatest opportunity to affect environmental change for the better is by selling ecofriendly products that help drive efficient use of resources in communities we serve.

In addition to selling products, The Home Depot also focused on education and training in 2021. Associates were given training on WaterSense-labeled products through rapid, web-based training, pocket guides and newsletters.

The Merchandising Execution Team prepared detailed plans to execute WaterSense signage in-store, and the marketing team worked with suppliers to ensure the WaterSense label is visible on packaging. Additionally, The Home Depot offered a livestream workshop on bathroom planning that covered the benefits of selecting WaterSense-labeled products.
