J.D. Irving, Limited, an integrated forest products company based in New Brunswick, Canada, that provides lumber, pulp, paper, tissue and pellet products, knows that a well-managed, diverse forest is the foundation of success. Sustainably managed forests and forest products have been at the core of J.D. Irving, Limited’s values since 1882.
Guided by an 80-year management plan that incorporates habitat, conservation, recreating, carbon stocks as well as timber supply, the company plans well into the future. A key pillar in ensuring carbon neutrality is healthy and growing forest resources, and key to this is the company’s tree planting program. Each year, the company grows and plants roughly 18 million trees and has planted over a billion of them since 1957.
