Shorewood, IL, March 31, 2012 — Toilet experts at MJSI continue their dedication to high-efficiency plumbing innovation by introducing the 2012 model of its award-winning HydroRight™ dual-flush converter. Engineered to convert standard toilets into water-saving dual-flush toilets, the 2012 HydroRight is the only converter that features an interchangeable designer chrome handle and button.
The new, patented split handle is designed with an upper section that activates the Quick Flush for liquids and paper. Pushing down on end of the handle activates the Full Flush when full flush power is needed. Unlike other converter handles that require a special motion to flush, the new HydroRight handle moves downward like a conventional toilet handle.
The HydroRight eliminates all common toilet problems by replacing the flapper, handle and chain. Designed and patented to simply drop in and attach to the existing flush valve, installation of the HydroRight requires no tank removal and no tools and can be completed in less than 10 minutes. The HydroRight works with all standard flush valves and was designed to provide consumers an inexpensive, hassle-free way to save water.
It has been shown to reduce indoor water usage by 30% or more in an independent study by USEPA advisor Bill Gauley of Veritec Consulting, LLC. That’s the equivalent of 15,000 gallons of water per year for a family of four or an annualized water savings of over $100.
“Our consumer research shows that people are just about equally split in their preferences for a handle or button, so we designed this year’s HydroRight to please everyone,” said Michael Schuster, president, MJSI. “We are also excited about the dual-function handle because we believe that it is intuitive to press downward to flush a toilet. Our competitors’ converters flush by moving the handle left and right or up and down. That’s confusing, and you can’t guarantee water savings if the concept doesn’t make sense. With the HydroRight, you can save water and money flushing the old-fashioned way.”
The Home Depot is the first retailer to offer the handle. The HydroRight with the button is available at Ace, True Value, and other fine retailers in the U. S. and Canada.
