The Home Depot has ambitious goals for reducing our impact on the planet. Among our many initiatives, we are working with our stores, with our suppliers and in our own product packaging to minimize the use of plastics.

Single-use plastics, in particular, are a priority for our plastic reduction program. Single-use plastics include things like straws, lids, bottles and plastic bags. They are convenient, inexpensive and pervasive. And although many single-use plastics are recyclable, they are more likely than not, to end up in landfills. That's why The Home Depot and its suppliers are continually looking for ways to reduce or replace single-use plastics wherever possible.

In one year, we eliminated 1.44M pounds of plastic and replaced another 7.73M pounds of virgin plastic with recycled plastic.
