At IMC Outdoor Living, a division of Liberty Tire Recycling, sustainability isn’t an afterthought – it’s built into every product. By taking discarded tires and transforming them into durable, high-performance landscaping products, IMC is proving that one of America’s biggest waste challenges can become a resource for homes and communities. Today, IMC is proud to partner with The Home Depot through its Eco Actions platform to bring sustainable choices to homeowners and Pros alike.

Every Tire Deserves a Second Life

Twenty-six years ago, Liberty Tire Recycling was founded to solve a growing problem: Discarded tires littering roadsides, polluting waterways and piling up with nowhere to go. The company started with a simple belief: Every tire deserves a second life. Today, Liberty Tire is one of the nation’s top tire recyclers, with more than 3,500 employees across 57 plants and offices nationwide, all working to find innovative ways to reclaim and reuse scrap tires for environmentally preferred products.

In 2025, Liberty Tire collected 219 million tires and reclaimed 4.8 billion pounds of rubber. End to end, that’s enough tires to circle the entire Earth three times!

A Circular Economy in Action

When a tire is collected, it goes through Liberty Tire’s processing facilities where the rubber is broken down into high-quality crumb rubber, the steel wire is recovered and recycled, and the fiber is repurposed. That crumb rubber is the foundation of a true circular economy model. In 2025 alone, the company repurposed more than 200,000 tons of recycled rubber into mulch.

IMC Outdoor Living then takes that recycled rubber and transforms it into Vigoro-branded products, closing the loop from waste stream to retail shelf.

Built to Last, Designed to Reduce Waste

Vigoro recycled rubber products are made of 100% recycled rubber and include rubber mulch, edging and tree rings, all available at The Home Depot. Vigoro rubber mulch is exceptionally durable, lasting up to 12 years or more without the need for replacement.

Recycled rubber mulch reduces the repeated cycle of manufacturing, transportation and installation, making it a lower-maintenance, more resource-efficient choice over time. The result is less material consumption, less waste and great value for homeowners.

Real Environmental Innovation

Through the Eco Actions Program, The Home Depot partners with companies that deliver real environmental innovation. In 2025, IMC kept one million tons of pollution out of the air through its recycled products.

Closing the Loop Together

IMC believes the end of one thing should be the beginning of something better. By closing the loop, the company is benefiting communities, landscapes and the planet. Its partnership with The Home Depot through Eco Actions shows what’s possible when sustainability and retail come together, proving that a better world is possible through better products.
